A lot of things happened over the last few years and fashion (together with my wonderful family and friends) kept me sane.
I woke up one day and I said to myself that I need a new look. It’s like having a new hair cut or a new hair colour. Something needs to be done.
After a deep and meaningful conversation with myself in front of the mirror, I then told my friends that this year will be a new me; the year of boho!
Boho is drawn from the bohemian and hippie influences. I have never done something like this. To note, my wardrobe is not even close to boho. I have been true to being preppy chic my entire life. Ralph Lauren and Miuccia Prada would be so proud of me.
I know for some fashionistas the “boho” is extremely yesteryears. But I am doing this as a personal project. A reinvention of myself. A Personal Journey. And there is no better time than Easter to kick start this “boho-ness”.
I’ll make sure that I’ll have lots of fun. A mixture of colours. A dash of earthy tones. A truck loads of accessories. And one “It Bag” (if my wallet permits).

I have been in front of the computer for hours now. Clicking Away. Searching. Then another click and another tab is opened. The joys of online (window) shopping. My latest target at the moment is Forever 21.
The closest I could get to Forever 21 is through my Internet browser. It is unfortunate to say that we do not have this ubiquitous store in Australia. My Bag currently has 24 items. I do get carried away. The swift maneuvering of the mouse and the simple clicking of it make shopping effortless.
Since it is Autumn in Perth, I thought it’s the perfect chance to change my look. As I work in a corporate environment from Monday to Friday, weekends are the days when I experiment with my fashion style.
I promised myself last night that I will stay away from monochromatic blacks and greys this Autumn/Winter.
My aim is to be different from the previous Autumn/Winter years I had dressed myself. This 2012 I will embrace a different look. Prints, patterns and colours this Autumn/Winter 2012. I do not have an excuse to be comfortable with my monochromatic blacks and greys! This is my challenge this Autumn/Winter.
So what clothes am I looking at?
A nice pair of stockings or leggings matching with a denim jacket and psuedo-cowboy boots for a complete feminine chic weekend look.

Alas! Casual Friday and I woke up without any idea what I should wear to work. With this usual panic attack, I really don’t have anything in mind.
First thought…”What’s the weather like?”
I felt a good breeze from the garden. That’s a good start!
Second thought…”What’s the most wonderful thing to wear when weather permits to wear anything?” Got it!
So I rummaged in my box of Autumn/Winter items and grabbed my tights. I then went straight to my closet and literally pulled the first thing my eyes saw.
My Friday was neutral extravaganza. A striped, ruffled Vneck top teamed with a babydoll top cum tunic (both from Portmans). To cap off my attire, I put on a long sleeveless cardigan to create another layer in my attire. This cardigan will sufficiently cover my bum if my flowy top keeps blowing upwards. Another excellent reason as an after thought when I put it on. My workplace is still a corporate office so I do not really want to cross the line of Friday casual to Friday inappropriate clothing. I have a reputation to keep…wink wink.
Wearing neutral can be dubbed as boring so I chose a few intricate pieces to spice things up.
1. A green emerald neckpiece.
2. Orange scarf to accessorise my handbag.
3. My wonderful ribbed shoes.
How to wear a rara mini skirt

This skirt is amazingly versatile! It is a perfect companion during the day because of its material and length. Since the skirt is made of cotton it is light and it won’t stick to your thighs. You can also wear it at night because of the black and white thematic pattern.
But how do we truly transform this skirt into something more than your ordinary mini.
1. Instead of pairing this skirt with a simple t-shirt, wear a fancy ruffled sleeves shirt to avoid the plain Jane appearance.
2. Cinch the whole outfit with a medium width belt. Opt for a belt that has a distinguished style or has a big buckle. This will add a special factor to the whole outfit.
3. You can inject a little bit of oomph by wearing a 3/4 beige summer-jacket.
4. For a more casual afternoon look, team this skirt with a light, flowy top. Wear white to convey a carefree attitude.
5. If you want a more sophisticated style, don’t hesitate to tuck the top inside the skirt. Finish the look with a buckled belt.

There is a craze out there for bandage skirt; whether it be plain or patterned.
When I was on holidays, I discovered bandage skirts and became obsessed with them.
I found the bandage skirt very flattering for a good number of reasons:
1. It hugs my body in the sexiest and most feminine way. The elasticity of the material gives room to stretch around my hips which creates a nice shape.
2. I can get away with wearing a loose top since the skirt is tight. This way, it hides my “tummy” area and I was not self-conscious about it.
Yes. I am a normal person and I have problem areas. It’s just a matter of knowing what to wear and how to wear the clothes to hide these nasty problem areas. That’s the secret.
3. The length is just right. Not too short that my knickers would show.
4. The comfortability level is bar-none. I don’t have to worry that my skirt will fly up when a gush of wind comes past. I love it in that sense.
5. It does not take too much space and weight in your luggage. Fold it or roll it. Either way, it will leave plenty of room for your other knick knacks when travelling.
6. It is a versatile piece of clothing. I can wear it during the day or night.
a. For a casual look, wear it with flats (like what I did).
b. For a dramatic effect, stilletos or pumps are the perfect match.
c. If you feel like being a rebel for the day, skater shoes (like DCs and Royals) are the way to go.
d. If you want to be transported to a girl-next-door-look, Converse or Keds would take you there.
